The Ultimate Eavesdropper

Ever wonder if God is really listening to you? Have you been praying and feeling like God is ignoring you? I have. However, what I’ve learned is that the closer you are to God, He’s listening even when you are not praying. There are a myriad of verses in the bible that scream one important fact: God is with you always. When you’re up and when you’re down, God is there. He promises to be there for you no matter the circumstances.

The proof of God in your life is there if you turn your eyes and your heart to Him. I was in a place where I didn’t believe that He was with me. I was going through one hit after another and I said to myself, “Where is God? Why is he letting this happen?” I was paying attention to the hits and not the small reprieves that I was experiencing. Those small reprieves were God saying, “I’m here, my daughter.”

God listens to your self-talk. The things that you tell yourself. Those side conversations that you have with yourself. Have you ever been thinking something negative about yourself or your situation and it suddenly turned to a silver lining or a bright spot in the midst of the chaos? That silver lining or bright spot is God. It’s God saying to you to think higher thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 (KJV) says: For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

There isn’t enough time to tell you how many “it would be nice if…” things God has provided for me. There are many teachings in the bible that speak to the wants and longings of God’says people. But the bible says in Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. That means if you keep your eyes on God, seek His advice in all things, He will will give you all the you want and desire as long as you follow His will. I have seen it. I am living it.

Your challenge: Pay attention to your self talk. Turn you heart to God and watch your “it would be nice ifs…” manifest in your life. ~ Selah
