Line In The Sand

Deuteronomy 13 tells about the false prophets that were sure to come up against the people of Israel to try and turn them away from God but Moses said to kill them! He even went so far as to say to “utterly destroy  (vs. 15)” the inhabitants and cities from where they came. Take it a step further. False prophets are not just people. It’s that opportunity that looks like what you’ve been waiting for but ends up being something else. That person your dating that seems perfect but just a bit off.

You see, once you start your walk with God, people notice almost instantly. Once you become serious in your pursuit of the things of God, all of heaven and earth lean in and take an interest. Hebrews 12:1 speaks to the great cloud of witnesses that have taken the walk and are cheering you on your path. They’re faith lines in the sand spelled out in Hebrews 11. Read it and be encouraged.

The enemy is also interested because now he has a new target. You need to begin to gird yourself in the armor of God to protect yourself. Your house starts to right itself.  The people around you start to thin so that you are only left with quality, Godly community. You start to notice the real meaning of , “For God I live and for God I die.” (Romans 14:8) Your draw a line in the sand for everyone and everything around you. You get your spiritual weight up and begin to stand your ground.

You start declaring, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15) Don’t be discouraged by the opposition that will come your way. It means you’re on the right track. Remember the cloud of witnesses and what they accomplished through faith. Keep your head up and draw your line. Trust that God has a plan for you. ~Selah

1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV
